Matthew DoBias

Senior Health Policy Analyst

Matt DoBias joined Health Policy Source, Inc. in 2017 and serves as a Senior Health Policy Analyst. In this role he supports efforts to ensure that HPS clients continue to receive the guidance, strategy and advocacy they need to navigate the changing healthcare landscape.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. DoBias spent four years as a Senior Manager in PricewaterhouseCoopers well-respected Health Research Institute, where he specialized in analyzing policy trends that helped inform the business and operational decisions of hospital and physician executives. Previously, he worked in journalism and policy analysis, where he distinguished himself as the Washington Bureau Chief for Modern Healthcare, and as a senior reporter for National Journal and POLITICO.

Mr. DoBias has extensive experience in analyzing the impact major pieces of healthcare legislation have on the industry. He has written extensively about how legislation such as the Medicare Modernization Act, the Affordable Care Act, and the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) has impacted providers, payers and pharmaceutical companies.

Mr. DoBias holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications with a concentration in news writing and news editorial from Virginia Commonwealth University, where he also served as a statehouse reporter. As a healthcare journalist, he has won awards for both investigative and service journalism.
